Effectiveness of Artificial Intelligence–Based Cyberbullying Interventions From Youth Perspective

Cyberbullying on social media continues to pose a significant problem for children and young people, platforms increasingly rely artificial intelligence (AI) address it. Nonetheless, little is known about children’s views as the effectiveness of AI-based interventions; how these interventions impact their rights protection, privacy, freedom expression, afforded them in United Nations Convention Rights Child (UNCRC), which applies digital environment. This study first ask perceptions proactive content moderation cyberbullying impacts rights. We have designed set into that build take-down, based learning norm theories; we solicited via focus groups in-depth interviews perceived such (children from Ireland, age 12–17, N = 59). discuss youth norms can limit need involve platform decisions regarding AI design.
